Ok, so I want a camera to take with me when I go to Hawaii *I'm leaving in a little over a week*. I'm wanting a "tough" camera so that I can take it with me, whatever I'm doing -- even and especially in the water. I have been doing a bit of research on this. What's funny is that what started my search was the Nikon AW100. I saw it in some sports magazine, and I thought it was a really cool camera. Now, after trolling the internets for touch camera infromaition, it turns it might be the best in the first place. The closest runner up I have found is the Pentax WG2. Anybody know of any other good "tough" cameras I should be looking at? I've already decided against Fuji, Canon and Sony.
Also, if anyone has experience with these or other tough cameras, could you share feedback?

Devious Journal Entry
I am in Hawaii. I come home in two days. Prepare for the storm of photos.
Pushing Previous... Boundaries?
You might see some art that is out of my normal trend soon... I just have to scan it in first.
Guilty pleasure: drawing people.
Hot people.
Hot naked people.
Hot naked women to be exact, lol.
I always just found the female body easier to draw... maybe because I know it better... probably because it involves more curves *my drawing style is full of long smooth strokes*.
So if this is going to offend some of my friends or watchers: I'm sorry. Get over it, or unwatch me. Or just ignore the drawings as they pop up, because I will continue with my photography too. :) I guess you could say me sharing my drawings is relative of my p
Growing Artists... Keep Growing
Alright, I have just realized something....
Have you, as an artist, found your niche? And do you really want to get stuck there?
When perusing deviantart I find I like the "growing artists" works more. Why? Experimentation. I find that in many people's galleries, if the artist is published or making money off of their art: one piece looks very similar to the next. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing everyone's art if you have a method.... but once you develop a set style and stop changing.... your art no longer interests me. I feel like I'm looking at the same thing over and over. I think it is important for artists to try new things
Comment VS Favorites
I feel like the "favorite" button has turned into the "like" button... Back in the day, I used to feel like I got more comments than favs. It has now reversed -- not that it's totally a bad thing, but as the artist I miss getting comments and feedback versus just favs.
When someone comments on my art it makes me think that "that someone stopped to look at the picture for more than just a moment... they actually sat and thought about what they liked (or didn't!) for a minute. They took the time to appreciate the piece and TELL the artist what they thought." It's a wonderful feeling.

I've heard good things about the GoPro cameras. I don't know about waterproof capabilities, but my uncle had one he had mounted on his cap when we were hunting. Stood up to the cold, although I think that will be the least of your worries in Hawaii.
I think for the GoPro to be waterproof, it has to be in a waterproof case.
